Weekend escape

Had a great time
Corona virus changed our plans but we still went and had a great time! Had planned to take my foreign exchange college kids and family to See Rock Coty, Ruby Falls, hike, bluegrass, southern cooking. Instead I got family and a few college orphans, home cooking and a lot of hiking but we still had fun- and even more tp than we needed! Place was very clean, I wish I could get my oven to look like that! Nicely stocked with spices, tools, oil, sugar in the freezer. Enjoyed sitting on the deck, watching the sunset, the hot tub, relaxing. Hiked the Foster Falls/ climber’s loop and the Grundy Forest loop plus sycamore falls bit of the Fiery Gizzard Trail. House has 3 bedrooms plus the living room couch bed, we were 8 with no issues. Gas grill, gas fireplace, tv in the living room. Had to search for master towels (in a dresser drawer) and only advice- add instructions on how to start the fireplace, not hard but u have to HOLD one button in while turning the other- took a few tries to figure out. Lynn answered lots of questions pre-trip. Was a little worried when we didn’t get the check in code until a few hours before we were getting there, but this was in mid March and covid19 was messing everything up all over so that can be excused. We had a great time and will try to do this trip as planned another time when the world is back to normal!

Everything you need for a great stay!
This is our 2nd trip to this cabin, and it's been a great experience both times. The cabin is clean and well maintained and stocked with everything we needed. Views from the back deck are incredible, great for unwinding after a day on the trails. The owner is super friendly and responsive to any questions or issues. We will definitely be back again!

Perfect mountain getaway!

Great Getaway
Great cabin with beautiful views. Great location near MontEagle. Relaxed in the hot tub and watched the sunset each night. Definitely stay again when I’m in MontEagle. Only thing I’d suggest would be a tv in the master downstairs. Thanks.

Cutest cabin near the Caverns!
Lynn was the best host and quickly available to help with any questions we had. The cabin was comfortable and fully stocked. Highly recommend if you’re going to a concert at the Caverns!

Lovely Host with Lovely Views
My friends and I loved spending our weekend in this cabin! The pictures of the mountain views don't do it justice. We were in town for a concert in the caverns which was about 25 minutes away from our cabin. The stay was very comfortable and everything we needed was there. Would love to use this cabin again if we come back to the caverns.

Beautiful Mountain Side Cabin
Everything is just right in this cozy cabin. From the views outside to the fully stocked and beautifully decorated inside. The hosts even decorated it for Christmas before our visit. WOW!!! The cabin is very warm and inviting but much lager than it looks. The surrounding town has lots of really interesting and cool store to shop and the Caverns, which is an underground music theater, is close by. We will be back!!!

Great Modern Cabin
Everything was extremely clean and in great shape. The kitchen was completely stocked with everything you might need, including a decent amount of spices. Great view from the deck. Could use additional TV in the bedrooms, overall great place.

Luxury in the Mountains!
If you need a 3 bedroom in the Sewanee/Monteagle area, look no more!!! This home is absolutely immaculate, with beautiful 2 story windows that overlook the mountains. The property is so well cared for and the owners respond to any questions very quickly. When we arrived, our view off of the spacious deck - was of a rolling mist travelling across the mountains. The hot tub was so clean and the entire home is well stocked with sheets, blankets and a lovely, granite kitchen counter top with plenty of cookware and kitchen appliances to make your stay just like home. When you see this home in person, it is much more beautiful than the photos! And no words can describe the view. It's just an amazing cabin and we feel so lucky to have found this gem!!!

Lovely Getaway Cabin
The picture for this property doesn't do it justice! The cabin is beautifully designed, decorated, and maintained. Unfortunately, we were so busy with my daughter's graduation week events that we didn't get to enjoy the jacuzzi as I had hoped, but it would have been amazing, too, I'm sure. The host was always responsive to my questions and concerns (we had a broken toilet seat that they repaired immediately), and I highly recommend this property to others!

Perfect cabin w an amazing view!
Cabin was exactly as pictured. Very clean, well furnished kitchen, and the fireplace was a nice touch for the crazy cold April weather! Hope to get back during warmer weather to enjoy the sunsets from the hot tub.

Amazing, beautiful, cozy, breathtaking.
We had everything we needed. The cabin was well-maintained and immaculate. The views were spectacular, we relaxed on deck every morning with our coffee. In the evenings we also enjoyed the hot tub under the stars. We went to High Point Restaurant, Jim Oliver's Smokehouse, and hiked at Foster Falls. Lynn and her husband were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. We had the best time making wonderful memories with the family. We look forward to visiting soon.

My family and I always come to Monteagle for New Years and we were so happy with our choice this year! Lynn was so accommodating and the cabin was a great retreat for our family and friends who joined us. The location is convenient to shopping, hiking and many great restaurants! We enjoyed the hot tub and the beautiful view that the cabin overlooks. Such a great trip!

Christmas on the Mountain - Wonderful
My wife, her sister, brother- in-law, step-brother and I decided to step away from the cities and gather on the mountain for a few days - including Christmas - this year. Couldn't have been a better choice and couldn't have stayed in a better place than the Bluff View Cabin. Well appointed for the holidays and well supplied and equipped, the Cabin was perfect in all respects. Communications and arrangements with the owners were just as good. A great location near the South Cumberland State Park if you want to hike or near Sewanee - The University of the South if you want to check out one of the nation's premier colleges.

Fabulous Cabin and View
We have stayed in many cabins around Tennessee over the years. Bluff View is absolutely our favorite! The view is spectacular, and seems to change depending on the time of day. The cabin is very well equipped, with any kitchen item you may need during your stay. There are games, books, and DVDs, and cable TV. The beds are extremely comfortable. The décor is also very tasteful. Having a hot tub to relax in was a real plus. We had the privilege of getting to meet the owners, who are absolutely delightful! We will definitely stay at Bluff View in the future.

Very clean and Lot's of fun
We had lot's of fun at this beautiful cabin. It may be the cleanest cabin we have every stayed at and comes well appointed with anything you will need for your stay. It was a easy drive to cabin when you get off of the interstate. Close to anything you would need, restaurants, groceries, etc. We went fishing in area lakes and ponds and spent time playing games inside and enjoying the hot tub on deck to relax. You can watch the sunset from the deck. We could have used another day or two and hope to come back!

Well maintained cabin perfect for downtime or exploring the parks in the area
My family of five stayed there for the weekend. Cabin was well stocked and well maintained, an easy transition from home to home-away-from-home. We were able to relax and stay in for a day, and also get out and explore the many parks and Sewanee nearby. It was a perfect place for any adventure!

Peaceful, Romantic Retreat
It was amazing to be able to enjoy a "cabin experience" so close to Nashville! Although, we must say, this cabin is not like the typical weekend cabin! The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, pots and pans and dishes (I cooked a full surprise birthday dinner there), linens are all provided, and the three bedrooms/2.5 baths would be great for a group. We also enjoyed a great meal at historic High Point, convenient and just a few miles away. One of the most wonderful memories we have from our time there was watching a peaceful snowfall, in early March! It was so beautiful to look out over the distant ridge and see snow covered hills and trees. Owners Lynn and Charles Tobitt were fantastic to work with. Make sure you ask them for the snow, too:)

A beautiful relaxing cabin weekend away!
We had a girls trip away at this wonderful cabin this past January. I cannot say enough good things about our stay. Everything was perfect. The cabin feels new and clean and was well quipped with everything we needed. The hot tub was a lovely bonus. Lynn, the owner, was more than accommodating with anything we needed. The area is close to the beautiful college and some fun restaurants and coffee shops. I would definitely recommend you making this your next getaway.

A cabin with great view for destressing and healing
This is the third time I have stayed at this house, it is immaculately decorated and super clean. The couch and love seat is very comfortable, clean and fits the rest of the décor. I really loved the fireplace, laid on the couch almost all night watching the fire. I really liked the granite counter tops that added a lot of class to a beautiful and well supplied kitchen. The hard wood floors are to die for, give me the motivation to put the same floors in my own home. The cabin has 2.5 bathrooms that were well thought out large enough to use without wasting space and absolutely spotless. The master sweet on the ground floor is warm and inviting and has a private bathroom. All three beds are super comfortable and have nice sheets with great comforters also the master sweet has a number of beautiful hand made Quilts for use. The two bedrooms upstairs are large enough to have privacy for the opponents to enjoy themselves without everyone hearing them. The steps going up stairs were some of the finest craftsmanship I have ever seen. This is a house that I want to return to and never leave. One of the many things I enjoyed that made me feel so welcome is that before you arrive the owner comes to the cabin and turns on some really nice music on the tv, made me feel very relaxed and wanted. If the cabin by its self isn't enough to help you unwind the view is stunning and add some adult beverage and get in the hot tub and your stress will disappear. I love this cabin!!!!!!!!

Great stay for Sewanee Family Weekend
We had an amazing stay here for Sewanee Family Weekend. This cabin would be worth renting just for the view. In addition to that, it is extremely clean, well-stocked and really, really comfortable! Lynn is so easy to work with and goes the extra mile to ensure your stay is wonderful. Definitely five stars!

Very nice cottage beautiful inside and out
Group of 6 stayed in this cabin for the Chattanooga Ironman 2016. Approx 50 minutes to downtown, but that is what we wanted. Gave great access to Sewannee college , jack Daniels in Lynchburg , occoe river whitewater rapids (similar time travel as Chattanooga) and still able to enjoy mountain character. The house was modern and well kept. Clean and well maintained.

Girls weekend
was the perfect place for hosting a girls weekend. We loved sitting on the back porch laughing and drinking coffee. They kept saying "this view"! Large, has everything to relax to include a view!
First off Lynn makes this an exceptional experience! She engages at just right times and her effort to provide a "home-away-from home" is evident throughout. The property is new and spacious (the pictures don't show how large the space is). We had a family reunion of 12 people, and were able to rent the "Lil Bear" cabin next door. The combination of these made a perfect family getaway. The cabin comfortably accommodated 6 adults. Most time was spent on the deck enjoying the views, hummingbirds and hot tub. The local Piggly Wiggly provided all our cooking/grilling needs and we enjoyed hikes at the University of the South and Foster Falls (bring your swim trunks). Highly recommended!!

Exactly what I wanted!!
This cabin could not have been more perfect (and I am really picky). I chose it for our girls getaway weekend and was nervous that it wouldn't be as nice as it seemed in the listing. It was exactly as listed - or better! The owner was easy to get a hold of and so helpful even about little details like what the kitchen was stocked with and where to eat/do grocery shopping. The cabin was clean (spotless!), comfortable and tastefully decorated. Lots of natural light. Plenty of seating for 6 in the living room and at the table. The beds/pillows were comfortable. The kitchen appliances were new and clean. The kitchen is well-stocked. Everything is new and shiny - including the deck. You can walk barefoot and not worry about splinters. The only trouble we had was getting the grill to light. But there was a lighter in the kitchen so we ended up lighting it manually, which I had never done before, but was easy enough. Also, the wi-fi stopped working about halfway through the weekend, so I unplugged the router and plugged it back in to let it reset (like I have to do at home every once in a while) and it worked like a charm from then on. We definitely enjoyed the hot tub. We brought a DVD and watched a movie in the living room (the only TV). It really exceeded my expectations on all levels. The surrounding area is beautiful as well. We explored the campus of Sewanee (20 min away) and some little shops just off campus. We ate at Modern Dave's which is less than a mile from the cabin and has a fun and unique menu. I'm so thankful to have found this property and am already looking at my calendar for when we can return!

Warm home with excellent views, amenities, and host hospitality
We recently stayed at Bluff View Cabin for the 4th of July weekend. The cabin is easy find and convenient to the interstate and Monteagle shopping. Sewanee is a short 15 minute drive. The brand new and spotless cabin has everything you'll need for a comfortable, self-sufficient stay. There's a lovely back porch overlooking the bluff. And sitting in the hot tub at night with the stars overhead is a great way to reconnect with friends. Lynn, the owner, is super with communication and made the check in / out process painless. All in all, this was a great experience and I don''t hesitate recommending it to anyone interested in staying in the Monteagle/Sewanee area.

Exceptional property & view w/amazing customer service
Unplanned last-minute weekend get-away could not gone any better. Lynn responded quickly and went the extra mile to accommodate our lack of prior planning by driving to the property to meet us and give a quick tour. An absolutely phenomenal cabin with all the modern amenities and an unbelievable mountain view.

Choose this house it’s the BEST and has everything you need!!!
What a great cabin! This place is amazing, we have stayed in a lot of vacation rentals all over the U.S. and this one is the best by far! Starting with the circular driveway and plenty of parking. The Porch has a covered area in the front and along the side (with rocking chairs) that leads to a very large deck all along the back of the cabin. We cooked dinner on the gas grill while playing cards at the table. After dinner was done it was time for a drink, a soak in the hot tub and to top it all off the most beautiful sunset ever! This house has it all inside and out. The owner has certainly thought of everything to help travelers enjoy their stay. We will be back in the near future. What a great way to unplug from the world and reconnect with my husband. We are so busy from day to day we hardly have time for each other so it was wonderful to have a few days at this little piece of heaven on earth!!

comfortable cabin
We had a fine weekend at this cabin. It was very clean, with plenty of supplies and comfortable seating. Good hiking a few miles away near the university. There are close neighbors but it was not noisy. The owner is very responsive and easy to work with.

Great House - Super View !
This is a very nice house. Well appointed in a quiet and beautiful location. We had a great 4 nights here and there is plenty to do in the region. Close to Jack Daniels, the Space Museum in Huntsville and not so far from the Corvette museum in Bowling Green. Highly recommended.

Worthy of Consideration
This home was a perfect stay! The home is fully equipped/appointed and the owners were some of the best to deal with. Huge wrapped around deck with great vistas from the rear. Easy location to navigate . The place was a great escape to enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday. The best thing we discovered is that they had a full compliment of HD Cable TV channels including the SEC Network. Lots of Football watching during our respite. This place will remain in our select destinations to return.

20 Year Reunion YSR!!! Great owners, amazing views, new property with great amenities
Lynn was absolutely amazing to work with...we were there for our 20 year reunion at Sewanee and couldn't have enjoyed it more. We we able to get an early check in and a late check, which was great for our old bones that needed a little extra time to get going on the last day. The property was immaculate. It included a washer and dryer, dishwasher, WiFi, a hot tub, gas grill, a huge deck and a circular driveway which was great with 4 cars, and breathtaking views of the mountain. The property was better than described and within 20 minutes from campus (the turn to go to the cabin is actually right across the street from the entrance to Monteagle Assembly). Rolling hills and wildlife everywhere. We saw deer everyday on the ride into or from the cabin. A deer actually ran into the side of my car one night (no damage-no worries). We are definitely considering this property for our next reunion if we can find anything on campus. ~K-Wood...Birmingham, AL

Beautiful Cabin, Relaxing Weekend!
We had a wonderful time relaxing at this cabin during our weekend to watch some volleyball at the University of the South. The cabin was immaculate, had plenty of room, a great kitchen and amazing views. I didn't want to leave. Our three young children had fun doing crafts and playing games while the adults sat on the deck and took in the scenery. We will definitely be back.

This place is beyond amazing! We had a great time staying at this beautiful mountain cabin. it was very rewarding to relax on the spacious deck while enjoying the extrodinary view with a cup of coffee. There are several restaurant options around but we chose to cook in the well equipped kitchen! It even had the most common spices! My twin sons really enjoyed the natural bridge! It was convenient to other attractions, in my opinion a great location! Can't wait to return and looking forward to next time! A big Thanks to the caring host.

The BEST view!!
We had such a good time at this beautiful mountain cabin. My son will be a freshman at Sewanee and it made for the best place to enjoy our last days together before he started classes. Although there were great restaurant options in the area, we loved cooking in. The kitchen was well-equipped and the views as we ate al-fresco on the spacious deck were breath-taking - a feast for the eyes! The best thing about our stay was meeting our wonderful hosts who were very accommodating and willing to help us with whatever we needed. We hope to return soon to this magical place!
